Vida Blue Debuts ‘Checking Out’ In Philadelphia

Vida Blue continued their fall tour at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Friday night.

The Page McConnell led project with bassist Oteil Burbridge, drummer Russell Batiste and guitarist Adam Zimmon offered up a live debut of “Checking Out” from their recently released album Crossing Lines.

McConnell and company got things going with “Analog Delay” followed by “Real Underground Sound,” “Where Did It Go,” “Electra Glide,” “CJ3” and “Phaidon.” The four-piece then debuted “Checking Out” ahead of “Where’s Popeyes,” “Who’s Laughing Now,” “Weepa,” “If I Told You” and “Final Flight.” The band then offered up their rendition Pink Floyd’s “Sheep” ahead of the set closer “Most Events Aren’t Planned.”

Vida Blue reemerged for a two-song encore of “Maybe” and a cover of Gary Numan’s “Cars.” Check out video of “Sheep,”
